Detroit Pistons point guard Derrick Rose gave a shout out to Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart in his autobiography titled “I'll Show You.”

Rose says Smart is a “hooper” and a guy everyone wants to play with because he makes winning plays.

I always said I'm a hooper, and hoopers can do anything, I feel. It don't matter. Like, Marcus Smart is a hooper. Analytics, you would say no way you want him. But when you go out there and watch the game, you say, “Of course I want him on my team.” Makes shots, period. That's a guy I love playing with.

Marcus Smart is the heart and soul of the Celtics. He's always the first one to dive onto the floor to sacrifice his body for the team and is one of the best defenders in the NBA.

Like Derrick Rose says, Smart's stats will never jump off the page. You have to actually watch the game to see the impact he has for the Celtics. Boston fans love Smart because of the toughness and energy he plays with.

Last season for the Celtics, Smart averaged 8.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.0 assists while shooting 42.2 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from beyond the arc and 80.6 percent from the free-throw line.
