It's almost impossible to fathom that after a week in which multiple fans were banned from NBA arenas for acts of stupidity, that it would continue to happen. Yet, here we are after a Boston Celtics fan decided to launch a water bottle at Kyrie Irving after the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Celtics in Game 4 at TD Garden.

At the conclusion of Game 4, Kyrie Irving and his teammates were walking of the Celtics' home floor having secured a 3-1 lead in the series against Boston. That's when a fan decided to throw a water bottle that just missed Irving.

Irving and his teammate Tyler Johnson paused, peaked back out of the tunnel and back into the Celtics' stands to try and figure out who had thrown the water bottle at Irving. Boston Police identified the subject and arrested him on the spot. Now, that person faces serious charges according to Shams Charania.

Tough consequences for this Celtics fan, no doubt, but it fits the bill for such a stupid decision.

All of this comes on the heels of separate events that occurred with fans at various arenas earlier in the NBA playoffs.

In New York, a fan spit at Trae Young when the Hawks were playing the Knicks. In Utah, a couple of fans used some out of control language towards Ja Morant's dad and his family. And in Philadelphia, after sustaining an injury ankle against the 76ers, Russell Westbrook had popcorn poured on him as he exited the floor.

This Celtics fan had already been banned from TD Garden for life following the water bottle toss but that may be the least of his worries.
