The Boston Celtics eliminating the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference Semifinal series Sunday afternoon, 109-81. In the process, they made some impressive NBA history. The Celtics knocked down 22 shots from beyond the arc, a new record for any Game 7 in the playoffs.

It is also the most triples made in any playoff game in the illustrious history of the Celtics franchise.

Boston was led by Grant Williams, who tied Stephen Curry and surprisingly Marcus Morris Sr. for the most three's in a Game 7, with seven of them. Williams led all scorers in the game with 27 points.

The Bucks actually led for most of the first half, but Boston closed the half well and took a five-point lead into the locker room. In the second half, the barrage of triples took over the game. Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum hit five three's. Role player Payton Pritchard even got in the act, hitting four of them himself.

The Bucks all series clogged the paint, making difficult for Boston to get good looks down low. So, the Celtics accepted that fate and decided to stay on the outside.

The Celtics had 29 assists on their 37 made baskets. That stat shows how well Boston moved the ball to create mostly wide open shots from downtown. After the game, Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer had to answer why the defense never adjusted to close on shooters. His response left people with more questions than answers.

The Celtics now move on to face the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals, beginning Tuesday in Miami.
