Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart is widely regarded as one of the fiercest competitors in the game today. As a matter of fact, even teammate Jaylen Brown is astounded by Smart's competitive nature, claiming that Smart actually drives him crazy.
Brown was recently the guest of honor in a forum held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. When asked about which teammate drives him nuts, Brown did not think twice about his choice.
Jaylen Brown, speaking at MIT, asked which Celtics player drives him the craziest. Without hesitation:
“Marcus Smart.”

As Brown shared, Smart brings the same type of intensity in practice as he does in regular games. Not even teammates are exempted from his physicality, and Brown himself attests to this fact.
The regular season has not even started yet and Smart has already been involved in an on-court squabble with Cleveland Cavaliers swingman J.R. Smith during a recent preseason matchup. Having been fined a cool $25,000 for his part in the altercation, it appears that this season is not going to be any different for Smart in terms of costly penalties for his antics on the court.
For his part, Brown is looking to reestablish himself as one of the most important pieces of a Celtics squad that is packed with talent. The return of superstars Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward, who both spent the majority of last season on the sidelines nursing injuries, will undoubtedly make life tougher for the likes of Brown to make as big an impact as he did last season.
