Somehow, the injury-riddled Boston Celtics are finding a way to win games in these playoffs. The Celtics are a sexy pick to get upset in the first round because of numerous injuries to their staff, but so far, Boston is making all those bettors who laid money on the Milwaukee Bucks to win the series sweating bullets.

And a big reason to their success so far in these playoffs is the play of Jaylen Brown, who uncorked a huge and historic performance Tuesday to lead the Celtics to a 120-106 win at home over the Bucks, giving Boston a 2-0 series lead.

In Game 2, Brown paced the Celtics with 30 points on 12-for-22 shooting from the field with five 3-pointers and five rebounds in 33 minutes of action. According to NBA.com’s stat trackers, Brown is now the youngest Celtic to score at least 30 points in a playoff game.

At 21 years old, Jaylen Brown is the youngest player in Celtics history to score 30+ points in a playoff game (Tom Heinsohn was 22 years old when he scored 30 points for Boston at Syracuse in Game 2 of the Eastern Finals in 1957).

With Kyrie Irving and Marcus Smart out with injuries, the Celtics need all remaining hands on deck in order for them to survive the first round, and thankfully for them, Brown is stepping up to the plate and delivering the home runs they need to stave off the Bucks’ challenge.

In two games in these playoffs, Brown is leading the Celtics with an average of 25.0 points on a fantastic 51.2 field goal shooting percentage.
