The Boston Celtics are still looking for some headway in what has been a largely up-and-down campaign. But they got a huge shot in the arm on Monday night after steamrolling past the Milwaukee Bucks, 117-103.

The Celtics played solid defense against the Bucks, something coach Ime Udoka has been trying to preach in his first season with the Green Gang. In fact, he's gotten so frustrated with their listless defense, Udoka showed his wards video clips of them showing a lack of effort in stopping opponents in the shaded lane.

The Celtics only won once in the recent five-game Western Conference trip, and Udoka said he had to give the players a hard slap in the face. Figuratively, of course (via ESPN).

“We've been talking about who we want to be and just showed them. I had an animated film session of that trip. We didn't like that feeling and got back to who we are.”

Celtics star Jayson Tatum, who's fully embraced his leadership role this season, responded with a monster outing of 42 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals against the Bucks. He admitted that they've been lethargic with their defense, and he appreciated Udoka's film session.

“It wasn't time to sugarcoat anything. He showed us. It was open.”

The Celtics improved to 14-14 while the Bucks dropped to 18-11. Tatum and company will remain at home on Friday as they host the Golden State Warriors.
