Boston Celtics All-Star Jayson Tatum could be away from his young son, Jayson Tatum Jr.—better known as Deuce—for multiple months, depending how far his team goes in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

But, that hasn't stopped the new dad from spending quality time with his son.

Tatum posted a video onto his Instagram story showing him reading one of Deuce's favorite books to him via FaceTime, recreating their regular bedtime ritual. Tatum was reading Bill Martin's Jr.'s 1996 classic, “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?”

Before heading to Florida, Tatum was asked about communicating with his son.

“(FaceTime) is the best I can do,” he said. “He’s still young enough that he doesn’t know I’m going to be gone for so long. So I can’t like have that conversation with him. But yeah, FaceTime him. It’s not going to be easy. I’ve never been away from him for more than like two and a half weeks. So we’re just going to have to deal with it.”

Deuce was born two months into Tatum's rookie season, and has become a celebrity around the team.

“He’s got everybody changing his diapers and, whatever he wants…Whatever Deuce says goes. Deuce cries and it’s always like, ‘What’s wrong, Deuce?’ When JT cries, everybody just looks at him,” Celtics guard Marcus Smart joked.

This past Father's Day, Tatum penned a heartfelt letter to Deuce. “You have changed my life for the better and have shaped me into a better man…I can't wait to see you grow into the leader you were destined to be and create positive change in this wold in your own way…I will always be there to guide you encourage you support your and know that you are never alone because I will ALWAYS have your back,” dad wrote.
