In 2011, then-UConn superstar point guard Kemba Walker put himself on the map courtesy of an unforgettable stepback jumper at the buzzer to defeat Pittsburgh in the Big East tournament. The Boston Celtics All-Star point guard recently took a quick stroll down memory lane as he relived the shot that pretty much made him a household name.

Walker recently spoke with Marc D'Amico of Film Study, as they discussed what is easily one of the most memorable shots in UConn history.

Kemba Walker went on to describe how special that moment was for him, and how it continues to be one of the best moments of his basketball career to this very day.

“This shot right here is what kinda let the world know that I was there,” Walker said. “I kinda arrived. Even though I had a great season that whole year, this is what everybody remembers me for, even to this day. Forget about your whole NBA career. Forget about the four All-Stars. That stepback shot in The Garden against Pitt, man, it's a special shot for me too. It was a special time. It was like a movie. It was like perfect.”

Walker led UConn to the NCAA title that season after an incredible run. He averaged 23.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.9 steals, while also connecting on 1.8 triples per game as a junior. This led to him being selected ninth overall a few months later in the 2011 NBA Draft.

Today, Walker is hoping to lead the Celtics to success in the NBA. They are currently ranked third in the East with 43 wins and 21 losses, and are considered as one of the dark horses to emerge as the winners in a wide-open Eastern Conference.
