The Boston Celtics will be without All-Star point guard Kemba Walker on Saturday when they host the Phoenix Suns.

The Celtics say Walker has left knee soreness:

The Celtics are 27-13 on the season. They are in third place in the Eastern Conference standings.

In his first season with the Celtics, Walker is averaging 22.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.9 assists. He's shooting 44.2 percent from the field, 38.8 percent from beyond the arc and 86.5 percent from the free-throw line.

The Celtics are currently on a two-game losing streak. They lost to the Detroit Pistons at home on Wednesday and fell to the Milwaukee Bucks on the road on Thursday.

Jayson Tatum didn't play against the Pistons, while Jaylen Brown sat out versus the Bucks.

Despite their current two-game losing streak, the Celtics appear on their way to redeeming themselves after last season’s dysfunctional campaign which saw them lose to the Bucks in the second round of the playoffs in five games.

Boston president of basketball operations Danny Ainge is starting to look really smart for not trading Tatum and Brown for some of the superstars who have requested trades over the past few seasons. The two youngsters are both playing like All-Stars this season.

The Suns are 17-24 on the season. The Celtics will try and snap their losing streak at home, but will have to do it without the services of  Kemba Walker.
