Boston Celtics star Kyrie Irving is a strange guy. Whether it's claiming the Earth is flat or being wishy-washy on whether or not he actually plans on staying with the Celtics, he is an eccentric dude.

But he is certainly not lacking confidence.

When talking about his knowledge of the game, Irving feels he is truly special:

“I've been playing basketball a lot longer than some of these people analyzing the game,” Irving said, according to Jackie MacMullan of ESPN. “I'm an actual genius when it comes to this game.”

To be fair to Kyrie, though, when it comes to comparing himself to other players in the league, that is not something he is keen on doing:

“If you ask me about basketball, I will talk all day,” he said. “If you ask me about spacing at the 3:33 mark of the second quarter, I will gladly explain it. I'll tell you what plays worked, about adjustments we make. But when it comes to personal things, or comparing myself to my NBA brothers, like, ‘Do you think you are better than this guy?' I'm out.”

Kyrie Irving is currently in the midst of what has arguably been the best season of his career, as he averaged 23.8 points, 6.9 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals over 33.0 minutes per game during the regular season while shooting 48.7 percent from the floor, 40.1 percent from 3-point range and 87.3 percent from the free-throw line.

He has also led the Celtics to a 5-1 record thus far in these playoffs, guiding them to a first-round sweep of the Indiana Pacers before splitting the first two games of the second round with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Boston will take on Milwaukee in Game 3 on Friday night.
