Marcus Morris made perhaps his most important contribution to the Boston Celtics since being traded by the Detroit Pistons in the offseason. The hybrid forward nailed a cold-blooded, game-winning 3-pointer over the outstretched arms of a running Steven Adams to give the Celtics a 100-99 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

“Hesitation?,” asked Morris when asked if he hesitated on taking such a big shot with little time left on the clock, according to Nick Goss of New England SportsNet. “I don't even know how to spell hesitation. I have no hesitation never.”

“(Adams) closed out, I pump-faked him, stepped to the side and hit the shot.”

His young teammate Jayson Tatum wouldn't give the big man his due props, rather saving some laurels for his own.

“That was an ideal pass,” Tatum joked to Marcus Morris on his way out of the locker room, according to Jay King of MassLive. “Great shot, though.”

Morris has surely stepped up in the midst of the absences of Kyrie Irving, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart, pouring in an average of 16.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while shooting a blistering 41.3 percent from deep.

His offense has been sorely needed by this team that is trying to keep the boat afloat while the main cogs get back to full health. This game shows just how deep and well-coached the Celtics are; sitting at the Eastern Conference's second spot, Boston may very well see no changes in their seeding when the postseason wars start in a few weeks.
