Robert Williams, the Boston Celtics' 27th overall pick in this year's draft, praised head coach Brad Stevens for his hands-on approach.

The 20-year-old 6-foot-10 forward, who's not yet cleared for 5-on-5 drills due to a knee tendinitis, shared his experience with Stevens. As per Tom Westerholm of MassLive, Williams raved about Steven's hands-on attitude as a coach. He shared that the coach's office is always open:

“He's one of the most hands on coaches I've ever worked with,” Williams said. “He actually conditioned with me on a bike today. That's kind of funny. But he's always hands on. Ask him directly. If you have a question for him, his office is always open as far as basketball and off the court.”

Williams also revealed that Stevens is already discussing the Celtics' playbook with him. So by the time that he's cleared for 5-on-5 drills and real court action, he'll already be in sync with the team.

“He's been teaching me actually the past couple days, just hammering in the calls, all the play names, all the big names for things, so it's just been a great perspective, a great opportunity.”

Williams played two seasons at Texas A&M where he was a two-time SEC Defensive Player of the Year, two-time SEC All-Defensive Team, and a one-time member of the Second-Team All-SEC.

The Celtics could really use a defensive presence such as Williams down low and he'll be learning under one of the best in the business in All-Star big man Al Horford.
