James Harden seems to be available for trade as the Houston Rockets enter a new era. Multiple teams have been discussed as possible landing spots. Despite the Boston Celtics not being listed as a destination, the Celtics have no interest in acquiring Harden, per the Boston Herald's Mark Murphy.

With the Rockets moving on from Mike D'Antoni and Daryl Morey, they are entering a new regime. As a result, both Harden and Russell Westbrook are hesitant to commit to remaining in Houston this season and beyond.

It was reported that Harden turned down an offer from the Rockets that would have paid him an excess of $50 million per year. Seeing that, it's apparent that Harden would be open to being traded to another team that could allow him to contend.

Ever since the rumors of Harden possibly being traded began, the Brooklyn Nets were labeled as the front-runners. The idea of him reuniting with Kevin Durant seems to intrigue the league's leading scorer.

However, the Celtics could be a team that could put together the best trade package for Harden. But in all likeliness, Boston would need to part ways with either Marcus Smart or Jaylen Brown to land the All-Star guard.

And given that Danny Ainge has been reluctant to trade either of them in recent seasons for proven stars, there's no reason to believe he's willing to do it now. So if any Celtics fans were hoping to see Harden in Boston, the franchise has no interest in pursuing him via trade.
