It's a good day for Boston Celtics fans. They managed to convincingly beat the Brooklyn Nets in spite of Kyrie Irving's glaring absence due to injury. Kemba Walker and the rest of the Celtics' young core played good team basketball under Brad Stevens. The star of the night for Celtics fans was Marcus Smart, though.

Smart had a solid performance as the Celtics took down the Nets, 121-110. However, their high praises for him didn't come from a basketball standpoint.

Yes, Celtics fans did call for Smart to become the MVP after helping the ball become unstuck from an awkward place in the backboard. The moment definitely brought chuckles out of the commentators, and smiles were beaming all around the court.

The veteran Celtics guard had a solid night overall. He finished with 10 points, four rebounds, and five assists. However, he had the highest Box Plus/Minus at +21. He is also the oldest Celtic in the roster: he's donned the Celtic green ever since the 2014-15 season.

He may not be the first choice in the MVP race, but his significance in the Celtics organization makes him more than fit to be the MVP in Boston's eyes.
