The 2022 NBA Finals featuring the Boston Celtics and the Golden State Warriors will be missing a couple of key sideline personalities in Game 1, with ESPN analyst Jeff Van Gundy and ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski reportedly out for the series opener because of COVID-19.

ESPN lead NBA game analyst Jeff Van Gundy and insider Adrian Wojnarowski are both out for Game 1 of the NBA Finals due to COVID, The Post has learned.

The duo joins Mike Breen on the COVID list. As of Thursday morning, Breen’s availability for Game 1 was still undecided. While he felt better Breen still needed to pass all of the NBA and Disney protocols. If Breen is not cleared for Game 1, then Mark Jones was slated to call it, as he did in replacing Breen on Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Breen missed his duties in the Game 7 of the 2022 Eastern Conference Finals between the Celtics and the Miami Heat, and in that same broadcast, many viewers noted how bad Van Gundy sounded, perhaps because he was already starting to feel the effects of COVID-19 at that time.

While the NBA Finals is a huge event, nothing is more important than the health and safety of everyone, so here's hoping that Breen, Wojnarowski, and Van Gundy will heal up very soon.
