The Memphis Grizzlies decided to part ways with disgruntled forward Chandler Parsons, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

“Sources with @ESPN_McMahon: Chandler Parsons will leave the Grizzles indefinitely as management and his agent James Dunleavy work to structure a resolution on Parsons’ future with franchise. Sides agreed on separation Sunday. Parsons has been medically cleared since Dec. 21.”

Both sides have been trying to work things out after Parsons was cleared by the team's medical staff. However, the Grizzlies' front office was hesitant to allow him to rejoin the team because of his injury history.

There are no further details as to what the Grizzlies are planning to do with Parsons. He is in the third season of a four-year $94 million contract, and Memphis still owes him a total of $38 million, including a fully guaranteed 2019-2020 season worth $25 million.

Parsons played in the Grizzlies' first three games before going down with a knee injury. He hasn't seen the court since, despite being cleared to resume all basketball activities for more than two weeks.

The Grizzlies' front office asked the eight-year veteran to suit up for their G-League affiliate, Memphis Hustle, so they could assess how healthy Parsons is, but he reportedly declined that request.

His fallout with the Grizzlies comes three years after he had quite a  similar situation with the Dallas Mavericks. Parsons wanted a four-year deal from them, but the Mavs were only willing to offer him a one-year, 16 million deal so they could assess his health. He declined the offer and signed with the Grizzlies instead.
