Tottenham standout Harry Kane has stirred up the transfer pot again after failing to show up for his first training session with Spurs on Monday as he continues to force a move away from North London. While Man City has been linked heavily to the England international, they've seemingly shifted their focus to Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish, who could be on his way to the Etihad in the coming days. With that being said, Chelsea needs to splash the cash and do everything imaginable to bring Kane to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues pinpointed Erling Haaland as their primary target this summer. But, Borussia Dortmund has remained adamant about not selling their prized possession, who is under contract with the Bundesliga giants until 2024. The Norwegian basically ended any speculation he joins Chelsea as well, making it clear he barely speaks to his agent Mino Raiola.

We know that Spurs and Chelsea rarely do business together. They're arch London rivals and it would be a slap in the face of Tottenham supporters to actually strike a deal. However, Roman Abramovich has already fronted up with the necessary funds to sign a proven striker in this transfer window. He was ready to spend over £100 million to secure the signature of Haaland, why not shoot your shot at Kane instead? Man City doesn't have the financial stability to bring both Grealish and the Spurs star to town.

The Blues desperately need a No. 9 after Timo Werner struggled to adapt in his first season in a Chelsea shirt. While the side did win the Champions League, their need for a proven finisher like Kane is crystal clear. After all, he's one of the most clinical goal-scorers in Europe and is fresh off winning the Premier League Golden Boot and Playmaker of the Season after bagging 23 goals and supplying 14 assists last term for Spurs.

With the attacking options that Thomas Tuchel already has at his disposal, adding Kane to the fold would undoubtedly make Chelsea title contenders in 2021/22. They already have a strong backline and if the Blues can sign promising defender Jules Kounde from Sevilla too, it's only going to make them that much better.

Chelsea must throw their hat in the ring for Harry Kane. Yes, it may be a long shot, but it's absolutely worth a try.
