The Kansas City Chiefs are looking for more ways to upgrade their offense after trading Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins. The money they saved gives them lots of options.

After signing Marquez Valdes-Scantling to a three-year deal, they are snagging one of Tom Brady's weapons away from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Chiefs are signing running back Ronald Jones to a one-year deal worth up to $5 million:

Jones fell out of favor in Tampa Bay last season as Leonard Fournette emerged as a versatile backfield option. Rushing for just 428 yards last season, the 24-year-old Jones compiled over 1,000 yards from scrimmage and rushed for over 700 yards in each of the previous two seasons. Along with Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Jones could give the Chiefs a very solid running back duo behind Patrick Mahomes. Jones has the talent to emerge as the starter despite his poor 2021 season.

Kansas City still has yet to find a potential game-changer after dealing away Hill. Jones' versatility is impressive but the Chiefs still need a truly elite weapon aside from Travis Kelce. There should be plenty of options in the draft and they have plenty of picks to find one.

Jones and Valdes-Scantling are both solid options to surround a primary weapon with. If the Chiefs can find one, they will remain among the very elite on the offensive side of the ball.
