Chris Bosh‘s tenure with the Miami Heat may finally be reaching its end in the coming weeks.

After months of uncertainty, the 11-time All-Star and his team have reportedly reached an agreement that will allow both parties to part ways with one another, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. This will allow the Heat to remove his salary off their books and provide them with more cap flexibility. Bosh on the other hand can sign with any team that shows interest in him.

“Chris Bosh has told family members that an agreement has been struck among the NBA, the Heat, the union and himself for Bosh to part ways with the Heat at some point in the coming weeks, with the Heat receiving maximum cap relief, an NBA-employed source said in early May and reiterated Tuesday.”

The development comes after Bosh was not cleared to play before last summer's training camp when blood clots were once again found in his body. He wanted to continue his playing career while taking blood thinners, but the Heat did not want to risk his health. The Georgia Tech product then took his case to the NBPA, but the union ultimately wanted the issue to be solved between him and the franchise.

Should another team sign him in the offseason, it will give him the opportunity to resurrect his career and prove that he is still one of the best big men in the league today. However, he'll have to be cleared by the doctors first, as his health is their priority.
