Los Angeles Clippers guard Lou Williams has never been afraid to engage with fans on social media.

On Sunday, he decided to clap back at a fan who claimed he needed to play more defense:

L.A.'s frustrations have spilled onto the Internet.

The Clippers have now lost three straight games after falling to the Sacramento Kings on Saturday in a game where even Kawhi Leonard vented his frustrations:

The Clippers' recent struggles (losing four of their last five) have resulted in them falling out of the No. 2 spot in the Western Conference. They have been supplanted by the Denver Nuggets, who now lead them by a game.

Los Angeles signed guard Reggie Jackson to add some depth to their backcourt after Jackson agreed to a buyout with the Detroit Pistons, but his first game did not go as planned. Jackson scored just eight points on 3-of-9 shooting from the field, also committing a pair of turnovers in 23 minutes of action.

For his part, Williams' advanced numbers on the defensive side of the ball might be somewhat deceiving. He currently boasts a 112 defensive rating, according to Basketball Reference. However, Williams has still been worth 1.4 defensive win shares (his highest mark since 2012), and his -1.9 defensive box plus-minus is still an improvement on previous seasons with the Clippers.

Realistically, the Clippers–and Williams–hope to benefit from more continuity down the stretch. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George will not be as pressed to miss games for “load management” in the final third of the season, especially not when Los Angeles are in dire need of a spark and have a chance to improve their playoff seeding.

Regardless, tensions are still running high as L.A. hope to put an end to the losing streak.
