Remember Marcus Morris making seven of his nine 3-point attempts en route to 23 points in their do-or-die Game 7 against the Dallas Mavericks? Well, Los Angeles Clippers head coach Ty Lue needs that version against the Utah Jazz.

On Saturday ahead of their crucial Game 3 against the Jazz, Lue had a rather savage advice for Morris after he made just eight of his 25 field goal attempts in Games 1 and 2. It’s simple actually: “Make a damn shot.”

While Ty Lue said it jokingly, there could be some truth to it. After all, the Clippers need their bench to step up like they did against the Mavs to turn around the Jazz series. Marcus Morris is certainly a crucial part of that.

In the seven games against the Mavs, Morris averaged 11.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists–all while shooting 40.6 percent from the field and 44.7 percent from deep. Against the Jazz, the veteran forward is just making 8.5 points on 32.0 percent field goal shooting and 7.1 percent from 3-point territory.

The good news for the Clippers? Well, Morris also struggled in his first two games against the Mavs before finding his rhythm in Game 3. Sure enough, Lue and LA can only hope that will also be the case for Morris moving forward as they try to keep their NBA title hopes alive.
