You may have remembered the incident between Division III schools men's basketball team, Fitchburg State and Nichols. Fitchburg State's Kewan Platt threw an elbow at the face of Nichols Nate Tenaglia. Tenaglia was shooting a three when the incident happened. He did make the three still.

Before that possession, Platt air balled a three.

Platt was suspended indefinitely and barred from campus.

Platt wrote a private Instagram post via MassLive.com. USA Today has the quote.

“I hereby want to apologize and show my deep regret upon my actions that occurred during the game against Nichols College the other night. What I did is totally unacceptable and not justified in any way. I got frustrated and lost control over my behavior. I know these words cannot undo my wrongdoings. In the future I promise to make better choices.”

We always see players get very frustrated during a game, but frustrations never lead to what Platt did. Platt is very lucky he did not injure Tenaglia.

Tenaglia did play 29 minutes during that game. He finished with 11 points and shot 4-for-7 from the field. His one and only three pointer was that one shot when the incident occurred. Platt had 16 points, five rebounds and four blocks.

Platt won player of the week and that was also taken away when he was suspended.

Division III hoops finally in the news, nevertheless.
