Tragedy struck on Saturday morning as NFL quarterback Dwayne Haskins was pronounced dead. The QB who played two seasons for the Washington Commanders and last latched onto the Pittsburgh Steelers was reportedly hit by a car in South Florida.

The horrible news was reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter:

Dwayne Haskins, a standout at Ohio State before becoming Washington’s first-round pick and playing in Pittsburgh, died this morning when he got hit by a car in South Florida, per his agent Cedric Saunders. Haskins would have turned 25 years old on May 3.

Dwayne Haskins played two seasons for Washington after getting selected as the 15th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. He eventually found his way into the Steelers roster as a backup QB but did not enter any games during the 2021 season.

Haskins was reportedly training with other members of the Steelers organization in South Florida before the tragic news spread of his passing.

He was also a standout at Ohio State, playing two seasons from 2017-2018 as the primary signal-caller for the Buckeyes. We'll have more news on the accident as details emerge.
