A lot of people have already smelled what The Rock has been cooking over the years but only a few are blessed to have one of his rare college football cards.

Just recently, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson posted a message on his Twitter account congratulating one lucky fan who walked away with a rare piece of memorabilia — a 1994 Miami Bumble Bee Perforated Dwayne Johnson PSA 10.

The college football card, which was auctioned by PWCC, fetched 50 bids until it reached $45,100. For his part, Johnson said knowing the result of this auction is surreal. He pointed out that even if his dream of playing for the NFL didn’t come true, seeing his old college football card sold on Super Bowl Sunday is ironic.

Before he went on to electrify the squared circle as one of the WWE’s biggest stars and Hollywood itself as a top-draw at the box office, Johnson played four years for the University of Miami. He mostly played as a defensive tackle during his four-year stint with the ‘Canes.

Johnson tried his luck by entering the 1995 NFL Draft, where he went undrafted. Instead, he signed with the Calgary Stampeders and was cut from their roster just after two months.

Johnson’s card hasn’t commanded the value it does now. Back in June 2020, gem mint 10 copies of The Rock’s Bumble Bee card are only worth $1,500. By October and December of last year, the figure rose to $,9000 $13,988, respectively. This goes to show that Johnson’s value on the card market is on an upward trend and it won’t go down anytime soon.
