WandaVision Episode 8, named Previously On, left a lot for the world to unpack, including the entire Evan Peters as Pietro deal. As a warning, since this post is being published so early after the show's airing, spoilers will follow immediately, as will a very light Mephisto theory.

The episode itself left us with a lot of answers. However, in typical fashion, WandaVision Episode 8 also left us more questions than answers. Again, spoilers, but if you want to know the deal on Scarlet Witch, the potential cameo dud and White Vision, this post is in this hyperlink is for you.

Evan Peters As Pietro Is A Fake

Evan Peters, Pietro, Quicksilver, WandaVision Episode 8, Mephisto

This comes as an absolute shock to no one; though the explanation for the “real” Pietro remained dead is important, as is Agatha's explanation that she didn't really conjure the version of the character Evan Peters is playing (who he also portrayed in the X-Men universe).

Why is it important that he's not simply a completely made up being? Because, my friends, there's layers to this Pietro fellow in the comic books.

Evan Peters, who is literally great in every role he's been in, could be setup for a pretty historic Marvel universe run now — and it might not be limited to the world of WandaVision Episode 8 or the show as a whole.

Mephisto Theory?

Basically, are we inching toward the era of Mephisto in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

I feel rather uneducated to talk about this theory in great depth, and better writers than I will definitely break this down in great detail, but one of the main theories running around ever since episode five revolves around the idea that the Evan Peters version of Pietro is actually Mephisto.

In WandaVision Episode 8, we don't get a lot of hints or clues that it's the case, but we do know this character is “real” and not randomly brought the life like Westview Vision.
