Week 7 of the NFL season was national tight end's week, and we saw some big performances from the usual suspects. With Week 8 right around the corner, it's time to check out the fantasy football tight end rankings for Week 8 of the 2023 NFL season.

Will Travis Kelce continue to carry his teams to the top? Can George Kittle keep it rolling with Deebo Samuel out of the lineup? Is Darren Waller officially back? We'll answer those questions and more as we look at the top of the tight end rankings moving into Week 8 of the NFL season.

But before we get to the tight end rankings for fantasy, let's take a look at potential TE streaming options and the best FanDuel plays for Week 8.

Week 8 Tight End Streaming Options

Trey McBride, ARI (vs BAL): With Zach Ertz sent to the IR with a quad strain, McBride will take over at tight end full-time for the Cardinals moving forward. McBride was already getting more involved in the offense (11 targets over the last two weeks) and now won't have to share as many snaps. This is a bet on talent, draft capital (55th overall pick in 2022) and opportunity, as the Cardinals should be playing from behind against a tough Ravens team.

Donald Parham Jr., LAC (vs CHI): If Gerald Everett is also out with a quad strain, Parham Jr. would be an interesting streaming choice as a giant red zone target against a team that has been middle of the pack against tight ends this year. Chicago's defense has been better as of late, but Parham Jr. is a decent bet to score each week (3 TDs this year) and should have a higher floor as the primary tight end should Everett miss time.

Week 8 FanDuel Tight End Plays

Darren Waller, NYG (vs NYJ) – FD $6400: He's back! Waller has been the favorite target of Tyrod Taylor, racking up 20 catches on 26 targets for 227 yards and a score over the last three weeks. This is more what Waller drafters envisioned for the whole year, but better late than never. The Jets give up the most points per game to the tight end position this season, making Waller a priority play if you decide to fade Travis Kelce on the main slate.

George Kittle, SF (vs CIN) – FD $6100: Kittle is a sensible play anytime Deebo Samuel or Brandon Aiyuk miss time, as Brock Purdy tends to funnel more targets his way. That should be the case yet again with Samuel slated to miss this matchup with the Bengals, who allow the 6th most points to opposing tight ends this season. Kittle has been very boom or bust, but this feels like a great spot for him to go off again.

TJ Hockenson, Minnesota Vikings

Fantasy Football TE Rankings Notes

Travis Kelce does more in a single half of football than most tight ends do in four games. He remains unfair…Mark Andrews is incredibly consistent at the most inconsistent position in fantasy…T.J. Hockenson is going to keep getting insane volume in this pass-happy offense with Justin Jefferson sidelined…Darren Waller burned some bridges early on, but Tyrod Taylor knows where his bread is buttered, and defending tight ends is the Jets' Achilles heel…

George Kittle isn't the safe play he once was with all the weapons in SF, but you start him for the huge spike weeks like he had against Dallas. The Bengals don't defend tight ends well, and no Deebo again…Dallas Goedert is averaging 6 catches and 78 yards over the last three weeks, and has scored twice in that span…Sam LaPorta has seen consistent targets and provides a nice floor each week, making him a kind of poor man's Mark Andrews…

Kyle Pitts should benefit if the Falcons figure out the way to beat the Titans is through the air. All it takes is one or two deep balls to make his day…The Steelers are very tough on opposing tight ends, but Evan Engram gets 7 or 8 targets every single game seemingly without fail…This might be too low for Dalton Kincaid who seems on the verge of a breakout with Dawson Knox sidelined with wrist surgery and the Bills needing another receiver to step up next to Stefon Diggs…

Dalton Schultz scored in three straight games before last week's Bye, and Carolina is a team we can go to the well against in fantasy footballl…The Rams allow the 7th most points to opposing tight ends in the league, putting blossoming red zone target Jake Ferguson on the backend TE1 radar…Luke Musgrave just needs to finish more games, because he's a favorite target of Jordan Love when he's out there…Logan Thomas is a bet on Washington having to throw the ball a ton against the Eagles, and little more…Ditto for Hunter Henry, as the Patriots should have to pass a ton to keep up with Miami's explosive offense.
