The Cincinnati Bengals face the San Francisco 49ers in a matchup of playoff contenders Sunday. However, the Bengals have a lot of question marks on their offense. Quarterback Joe Burrow is dealing with a finger injury and now running back Joe Mixon was not seen at practice for the second straight day.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor spoke to the media Wednesday saying that Mixon's absence was illness related, but it was not believed to be COVID, but simply a head cold. But Mixon was once again not seen in the portion of practice on Thursday open to the media.
Assuming Mixon returns to practice Friday, this issue is a non-starter. However, until he is seen, fantasy football managers need to at least be aware of the situation.

If Mixon were to miss Sunday's game, back up running back Samaje Perine would likely lead the backfield with Chris Evans working in on 3rd down and passing situations.
Fantasy managers have come to count on Mixon as a true RB1 this year. Mixon has 212 fantasy points in half PPR leagues. Those are becoming the most common leagues.
He trails only Jonathan Taylor and Austin Ekeler in points, with a precipitous fall after him to #4 Leonard Fournette.
Samaje Perine, when given an opportunity this year, has done decently well for fantasy purposes. However, San Francisco's rush defense is not exactly a smash spot. So, if Mixon is unable to recover in time, fantasy football managers might want to look elsewhere to fill their hole.
