The Los Angeles Chargers are in the midst of facing off against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday Night Football. For most fantasy leagues, the playoffs start now and Austin Ekeler has been one of the best assets all season. It was believed he'd have a prominent role on Thursday, but it appears that is not the case.
According to Mike Clay, Ekeler is being utilized in a limited role right now. Leading into the half, the Chargers star running back had only played 17 snaps. Clay breaks down the comparisons with Justin Jackson and Josh Kelley.
Austin Ekeler is, in fact, limited tonight.
Per @NextGenStats, he's played 17 snaps (42.5%), compared to 16 for Justin Jackson and 8 for Josh Kelley.

Earlier on Thursday, it was reported that Austin Ekeler would be active. Although, Brandon Staley technically didn't say what his role would be. Even so, fantasy football managers are in turmoil over Ekeler's lack of opportunities against the Chiefs. It's likely the best move for the Chargers, but it's not ideal for fantasy managers.
Article Continues BelowConsidering it's the playoffs for most fantasy leagues, not having your elite running back produce could be detrimental to many. The Chargers are playing Austin Ekeler correctly, but this is brutal for anyone who has him on their fantasy squad (including me).
Hopefully, Ekeler can make up for it with a touchdown in the second half. If he can manage 13+ fantasy points while helping the Chargers win, that should be considered a win. Although 13 points isn't a lot, it's much better than single digits.
We'll see how it plays out. There is plenty of time for Ekeler to make a big play and help fantasy managers alike. For now, we'll just watch impatiently until it happens.
