Amid a ton of SEC teams looking to fill a head coach vacancy, the Florida Gators have found their man. According to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, Florida is finalizing a deal with Todd Golden to be the team's next head coach.

Golden, who signed a six-year deal with Florida, has been the coach of San Francisco Dons for the past three seasons. Prior to that, he spent three seasons as an assistant coach He helped lead them to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 26 years. The Dons lost 92-87 to the Murray State Racers in a game that showed how far the team had come under Golden.

CBS Sports' Matt Norlander said that Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin has been concerned mostly with finding the right fit for his new hire rather than his status with big-time programs. Golden does, though, have some experience with a big program. He spent three seasons under Bruce Pearl at Auburn as a director of basketball operations and an assistant coach. As a head coach, though, the 36-year-old is relatively new to the game.

The Gators' job was vacated by Mike White, who had been there for seven years. He left to take the job with the Georgia Bulldogs. Now, Golden will have the chance to build the Gators into a national powerhouse again.
