In Genshin Impact version 2.3, two new Artifact Sets will be available for players, which will add more options when building certain characters. The two artifacts sets are the Husk of Opulent Dreams and Ocean-Hued Clam, which were revealed during the special program livestream. These sets support two specific niches, with one of them being integral to the approaching meta that is Mono-Geo compositions.

Husk of Opulent Dreams Overview

2 Piece – DEF +30% |  4 Piece – A character equipped with this Artifact set will obtain the Curiosity effect in the following conditions: When on the field, the character gains 1 stack after hitting an opponent with a Geo attack, triggering a maximum of once every 0.3s. When off the field, the character gains 1 stack every 3s. Curiosity can stack up to 4 times, each providing 6% DEF and a 6% Geo DMG Bonus. When 6 seconds pass without gaining a Curiosity stack, 1 stack is lost.

Husk of Opulent Dreams is going to be the best option for three of the featured characters in Version 2.3, namely, Albedo, Itto, and Gorou. It’s also amazing for Noelle, who has the same scaling and play style as Itto. This artifact set is really geared for DEF-scaling Geo characters, which we surprisingly have a lot of.

Ocean-Hued Clam Overview

2 Piece – Healing Bonus +15% | 4 Piece –  When the character equipping this artifact set heals a character in the party, a Sea-Dyed Foam will appear for 3 seconds, accumulating the amount of HP recovered from healing (including overflow healing). At the end of the duration, the Sea-Dyed Foam will explode, dealing DMG to nearby opponents based on 90% of the accumulated healing. Only one Sea-Dyed Foam can be produced every 3.5 seconds. Each Sea-Dyed Foam can accumulate up to 30,000 HP (including overflow healing). There can be no more than one Sea-Dyed Foam active at any given time. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field.

This is probably the most complicated 4-piece set passive we have so far and is also complicated to use in actual combat. Ocean-Hued Clam seems like miHoYo’s compromise to the problem of pure healers not being relevant in the current meta. To put it simply, the more the character heals, the more damage the bubble will do every 3.5 seconds. This way, healers can spec purely into healing, and still do damage without any investment into offensive stats. This is definitely a great artifact set for Kokomi, Barbara, and Qiqi.

These Genshin Impact version 2.3 new artifact sets somewhat solve the problems that Geo characters and pure healers have, which is a good thing moving forward. Geo had a problem of not having a good Geo set that benefits themselves, since Archaic Petra and Retracing Bolide are somewhat inferior to other artifacts, like Noblesse Oblige or Tenacity of the Millelith. Ocean-Hued Clam is a good offensive option for pure healers, which makes them not much of a DPS loss anymore compared to purely offensive teams.
