Giannis Antetokounmpo may not be the best person to deliver a joke, but this time, he was able to make a few people laugh. After his failed a “knock-knock” at Milwaukee Bucks media day, he jokingly referred himself as a “7-foot point guard” which he later changed to “an almost 7-foot point guard.”

The “Greek Freak” is one of the most versatile players in the league today and his ability to play all five positions is an asset the Bucks greatly value. Recently signing a contract extension, Antetokounmpo is expected to man the one spot at times this coming season.

Should head coach Jason Kidd stay true to his word of having the 21 year old run the plays, he'll be one of the tallest, if not the tallest, point guards in the league.

With a lot of uncertainty on how tall he really is, Giannis explained (via the Locked On Bucks podcast) how his height varies depending on what he has on his feet:

“I don't know. I'm 6-foot-11 and a half, so 7-foot. Almost 7-foot, 7-foot with shoes, 7-2 with high heels on. I'm joking (laughs).”

“I'm 6-9 like KD.”

Kevin Durant‘s real height has been a league mystery as well. Similar to the new Golden State Warriors forward, Giannis' listed height should not matter that much anymore as the new breed of players play more than at least one position, gearing the NBA towards “positionless” basketball.

With his new contract in place, and his coach preparing him to play different spots depending on given match-ups, the former 15th overall pick of the 2013 draft is expected to have a huge season this year. Gianni already showed glimpses of the potential he has, and if he continues to improve, he'll definitely be one of the biggest stars of the league in years to come.
