The New York Giants have once again made some headlines as the result of striking a deal with a wide receiver. With the struggling NFC East franchise stringing together quite the busy offseason, especially in terms of New York's wide receiver group, the team has now officially retained journeyman wide out Corey Coleman for next season.

On Monday, Coleman formally signed the contract tendered to him for next season, which could cost the Giants just over $2 million.

While Coleman has become just the latest Giants wide receiver to make the news, New York has infamously parted ways with some talent while retaining some additional talent this offseason.

After initially trading away All-Pro wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to the up-and-coming Cleveland Browns, the Giants then turned their attention to a pair of wide outs that will stay in East Rutherford for at least the foreseeable future. First, the Giants signed wide receiver Sterling Shepard to a long-term contract extension before more recently inking another wide out in Russell Shepard to a deal.

Even so, both quarterback Eli Manning and running back Saquon Barkley will continue to serve as the key pieces of the team's offensive attack, which doesn't seem primed for much success going forward.

In the absence of the aforementioned Beckham Jr., the Giants surely won't finish the 2019-20 campaign atop the NFC East standings. With the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys both as dangerous as ever, look for the Giants to secure yet another top 10 pick ahead of next year's NFL Draft.
