Deion Sanders is widely considered the best cornerback in NFL history and one of the best football players ever, period.

Coming out of Florida State in 1989, Sanders was viewed as a top prospect who would likely go somewhere in the top 10 of that draft, so teams with picks later on probably didn't stand much of a chance of landing him.

The New York Giants owned the 18th overall selection that spring, but because they thought they at least had an outside shot of selecting Sanders (or perhaps they wanted to trade up for him), they brought Sanders in and asked him to take a written test.

Apparently, Sanders wanted nothing to do with a written exam and had this response when the Giants wanted him to take it:

“I'll be gone before (your pick),” Sanders told New York at the time, via Bleacher Report. “I'll see y'all later. I ain't got time for this.”

Ultimately, Sanders was right, as he was chosen by the Atlanta Falcons with the fifth pick.

Sanders went on to spend the first five years of his career with the Falcons, quickly establishing himself as one of the best defensive backs in the game by making three Pro Bowls and earning a couple of First-Team All-Pro selections in Atlanta.

The Fort Myers, Fl. native then joined the San Francisco 49ers for one year in 1994, helping lead the club to a Super Bowl title. That ensuing offseason, Sanders signed with the Dallas Cowboys and won another Super Bowl during his first season with the team.

Sanders proceeded to spend five years with the Cowboys before linking up with the Washington Redskins for one season in 2000. Then, after retiring for three seasons, Sanders returned to the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens in 2004, playing a couple of years in Baltimore.

Overall, Primetime made eight Pro Bowls and notched First-Team All-Pro honors six times in his career.
