The New York Giants are hoping to snap a five-game losing streak against the New York Jets in Week 10. Unfortunately, it appears they will be shorthanded on offense.

According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, tight end Evan Engram and wide receiver Sterling Shepard have been ruled out versus the Jets:

Giants officially ruled out TE Evan Engram and WR Sterling Shepard against the Jets.

The update undoubtedly deals a crushing blow to the receiving corps for quarterback Daniel Jones. The Giants offense will now be massively shorthanded once again in this battle for New York.

Engram had been dealing with a foot injury all week following the 37-18 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 9. An MRI revealed that he had suffered a mild foot sprain, however, he was able to avoid a Lisfranc injury that would have sidelined him indefinitely. Regardless, he will still need some extra time to recover.

Shepard's absence has become a cause for concern in New York now that he is slated to miss his fourth straight game with a concussion. He suffered two concussions within the span of a month and the team indicated early on that they would be taking a cautious approach with his recovery. Although he had initially cleared the NFL's concussion protocol and was seemingly nearing a return before suffering another setback.

The Giants will now need to find a way to make do with the weapons at their disposal if they want to get back into the win column in week 10. It is safe to say that Jones will be relying heavily on running back Saquon Barkley and wide receiver Golden Tate in the passing game.
