New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley has had an impressive rookie campaign, and Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Namath thinks he is must-see TV.

So far this year Barkley has rushed for 1,124 yards, and nine touchdowns and has also been a real threat catching the ball out of the backfield racking up 78 receptions for 629 yards and four touchdowns. It seems everytime he touches the ball he can go the distance and that's a big reason why Namath is so enamored with him.

“From what I’ve seen on my television and from what the people have said about him that are the closest to him, I can only admire him and I look forward to seeing when he plays,” Namath told MSG.

Namath said that when he wants to watch a game, he watches mostly for special players, and Barkley is one of those guys that he tunes in for.

“When I’m switching games on the TV on Sunday, I’m switching to see people. I’m switching to see teams – yes, but I’m switching to see people and he’s one of the people I tune in to see how he’s doing on that day. He’s that kind of player, he’s special.”

There are still some question marks about if the Giants should have taken a quarterback instead of Barkley, but right now Barkley seems to be proving a lot of those doubters wrong.

If the Giants can hit on the right quarterback soon and pair him with Barkley, the Giants are going to be a contender once again in the NFC East.
