The New York Giants were supposed to get their hands on tight end Kyle Rudolph to bolster their roster for the next season. However, they eventually encountered a roadblock along the way as a physical revealed that Rudolph will need to have surgery on his foot.

Despite the debacle, Big Blue will still proceed with the initial two-year, $16 million deal as Rudolph is now expected to suit up come Week 1, per Mike Garafolo.

Rudolph recently concluded a 10-year stint with the Minnesota Vikings where he notched two Pro Bowl appearances. He registered 334 receiving yards on 28 receptions along with a lone touchdown through 12 games played last season.

Although he didn't great in 2020, the Giants are still counting on Rudolph to be a key player on their offense. New York is poised to pair him with another Pro Bowl tight end in Evan Engram on the field next season.

Aside from the two, quarterback Daniel Jones is also set to have a new WR1 in Kenny Golladay who was newly acquired from the Detroit Lions. The team will be getting a huge boost as star running back Saquon Barkley is set to return to action after absorbing a torn ACL injury last season.

With a more improved offensive attack, Giants head coach Joe Judge and his men are expected to bounce back from a dismal 6-10 record for the second spot in the NFC East last season.

Now heading to play for a new team for the first time in his NFL career, Kyle Rudolph is hoping to make a comeback and emerge as a valuable contributor for the Giants next season.
