This past week, Giants owner John Mara made some critical comments towards Odell Beckham Jr. in a response to the latter's comments about the team's poor performance to start the season. Mara said the Beckham needs to do a ‘more playing' and ‘less talking'.

Recently, Beckham said that he respects Mara's opinion and that they haven't had a one-on-one conversation about it. However, Odell Beckham Sr., who also happens to be a former LSU running back like his son, doesn't seem to appreciate Mara's comments towards his son.

Beckham Sr. posted a video on Instagram showing a frustrated Mara knocking over a chair in his box at a Giants game in 2017 to go with an interesting caption.

“Is that owner Mara picking up a chair and throwing it!! Oh my my the tree is acting like the Apple!!! . . . He’s mad at how Odell is acting sooo HE DOES THE SAME??! You couldn’t make this up if you tried!!”

Whether Odell Beckham Jr. agrees with his father's response is still unknown. However, this just adds more controversy to the Giants locker room which already has more than enough of it right now. Aside from Beckhams' and Mara's comments, there has been a lot of criticism towards the play of their quarterback Eli Manning which has seemingly caused his teammates, including Beckham Jr., to have issues trusting his decision-making.

Manning has looked like a shell of himself to start the season and has acknowledged that he needs to play better. The offensive line, same with previous years, has been terrible. The lone bright spot for the Giants has been the play of rookie running back Saquon Barkley.

The Giants have an opportunity to pick up a win this Sunday against an also-struggling Atlanta Falcons Team. It will be interesting to see how much more the off-field distractions affect their play.
