Cameron Smith set the golf world alight with his dominant final round en route to his Open Championship victory on Sunday. His incredible performance saw him outdo Rory McIlroy for first place, but despite the win, it seems his future with the PGA Tour may be coming to an end. According to Reuters, Smith is apparently set to jump ship and join Greg Norman's Saudi-backed LIV Golf super league.

It would be a surprising move, to say the least, given that Smith just won the British Open on Sunday. When asked about potentially leaving the PGA for LIV Golf, Smith seemed almost offended during his post-match interview. Still, he didn't outright deny the possibility.

“I just won the British Open and you are asking about that?” Smith said. “That is not that good. My team around me worry about that stuff. I am here to win golf tournaments.”

Well, it certainly looks like his team has handled it, and fast. Reports indicate that Smith will be taking his Open Championship trophy and booking it for the LIV Golf tour, where he'll join some of the other notable PGA defectors, including Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, and more.

Smith isn't the only player expected to make the switch to LIV Golf in the near future. Ryder Cup captain Henrik Stenson is believed to be joining Smith in the Saudi-backed golf super league, and rumors indicate that Hideki Mastuyama, Adam Scott, and Marc Leishman may not be too far behind.

While many prominent stars have remained loyal to the PGA, it's certainly concerning to see Smith win his first major and hightail to LIV Golf less than 24 hours later.
