Memphis Grizzlies head coach J.B. Bickerstaff sounded non-committal about making changes to their current rotation. The Grizzlies have been getting inconsistent production from their bench in their recent games. Due to their unstable bench production, talks about taking Chandler Parsons out of the dog house surfaced.

However, Bickerstaff dodged questions about the possibility of playing Parsons in their next games.

Chandler Parsons has only played in three games this season, where he averaged 5.7 points and 1.3 rebounds in 15.3 minutes per game. There were hopes about Parsons finally getting his groove back this season after a decent showing in five preseason games. However, it appears his future in Memphis remains murky at this point.

The 30-year-old forward sustained a knee injury in their third game this season. The former Florida standout has been slowed down by his ailing knee over the past years. However, the seven-year veteran recently came out and publicly declared that he is healthy. He pointed out that he is also unsure why he is not being utilized.

“The most confusing part for me is I’m healthy,” Parsons told the Mike Giannotto of the Commercial Appeal. “I'm medically cleared by the people I work with every single day, that are experts at this kind of stuff, so it's frustrating to watch a team struggle and I'm sitting there on the bench healthy, dying to play.”

Chandler Parsons' career has been on a downward trajectory since signing a four-year, $94.44 million contract with the Grizzlies before the 2016-17 NBA season. He averaged just 6.2 points in 34 games in his first year in Memphis. He posted 7.9 points in 36 games last season.

His production in the last two seasons was a far cry from his career-best average of 16.6 points in the 2013-14 season when he was still with the Houston Rockets. Before moving to Memphis in 2016, Parsons averaged 13.7 points in 61 games for the Dallas Mavericks.
