Sunday's game between the Memphis Grizzlies and Sacramento Kings wasn't just any ordinary one for Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph, as it marked the first time they faced each other after parting ways in the offseason.

The Spaniard international acknowledged how his former teammate made him better during their practices before and couldn't help but recall how they bonded during a post-game interview with Sean Cunningham of ABC10. Gasol also said that he misses Randolph everyday and called their first meeting as opponents “special.”

Together with Vince Carter, Zach Randolph chose the Kings over other teams that showed interest in him during free agency. Now one of oldest players on their roster, Randolph still continues to receive a lot of playing from head coach Dave Joerger, but he also understands that he was brought in to their fold to serve as a veteran locker room leader.

The Grizzlies ultimately won on the night, as they blew out the Kings inside Golden 1 Center, 114-96. Marc Gasol struggled though, finishing with only seven points, two rebounds, and three assists. Zach Randolph on the other hand, also failed to contribute much to his team's cause, recording only four points, six rebounds, and one assist.
