Hardspace Shipbreaker is coming out of Early Access on May 24, 2022, on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game will come out of Early Access also as part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
Most kids imagine being an astronaut to be a fun job. Hardspace Shipbreaker will give these kids a hard dose of reality – at least for what kind of job being an astronaut would be like in the future. Equipped with the most high-tech tools and equipment, players take control of a space employee as a Shipbreaker. As a Shipbreaker, players salvage ships in zero gravity, carving through hulls and panels, salvaging for parts, and selling them off for profit.
While that brief description of your job sounds pretty idyllic, the work you do is actually very hazardous. Hazards include explosive decompression, fuel, electricity, and radiation – many ways to die in the lonely space above our beloved planet. But don't worry – every time you die, you can increase your bottomless debt to your corporate overlords so that you can resurrect with the help of the EverWork technology – revival technology doesn't come in cheap.
