Sharpshooting guard Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks forged his way into the franchise's history books with a 35-point night.

Young, the fifth overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, torched the Cleveland Cavaliers with 35 points, making him the first Hawks rookie to tally at least 35 points in a game since John Drew in 1975.

The 20-year-old also added a game-high 11 assists, along with two rebounds, and one steal. He shot 56.5 percent from the field. From downtown, he drained 6-of-14 shots. And more importantly, he guided the Hawks to their first win of the season, 133-111.

Young initially struggled during the Hawks' preseason games. But towards the tail-end of the campaign, he finally got his groove and is spilling over to the regular season.

During his college stint, scouts and critics tagged his playstyle as similar to that of Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors. Just like the two-time MVP, Young easily drained shots from distance. In his first few games in the NBA, he's steadily proving that he's a certified sharpshooter from downtown.

But with his recent game against the Cavaliers, several critics pointed out that Young's playstyle is similar to that of Steve Nash, primarily due to his pinpoint passing which is borne out of good vision and great court awareness.
