Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young is excited about former Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley joining him in Atlanta on the Falcons.

The Falcons signed Gurley on Friday, just a day after the All-Pro got waived by the Rams:

So now the city of Atlanta has two stars. Young has already established himself as one of the best point guards in the NBA despite being only a second-year player, while Gurley is looking to prove all the doubters wrong with the Falcons and show everyone his knee injury isn't that serious.

The Hawks were only able to register 20 wins before the season was suspended because of the coronavirus. Young has appeared in 60 games for the Hawks in 2019-20. He’s putting up a stat line of 29.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 9.3 assists in 35.3 minutes per game while also shooting 43.7 percent from the field, 36.1 percent from beyond the arc and 86.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Last season with the Rams, Gurley carried the ball a total of 223 times for a grand total of just 857 yards. The three-time Pro-Bowler, who tore his ACL in college at Georgia, did score 12 touchdowns, but the Rams missed the playoffs after getting to the Super Bowl the previous season against the New England Patriots.

That Super Bowl game was when every football fan began getting concerned about Gurley’s health since he received only 12 touches, as Rams head coach Sean McVay must have known Gurley's knee wasn’t right leading up to the big game.

Since entering the NFL, Gurley has racked up 5,404 yards. Young is looking forward to checking out Gurley in Atlanta next season, assuming the NFL season is still played.
