The first round of the playoffs in the East could present some of the most enticing matchups of the entire postseason. The Miami Heat are close to finally securing the top seed in the conference, but they could be facing one of the toughest teams in the East if Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets end up as the eighth seed.

In a recent interview with SI, Heat star Bam Adebayo was asked who he believes is the toughest player to guard in the NBA is. The 24-year-old provided an intriguing response as he singled out Durant:

“Hardest dude to guard? I would say Kevin Durant,” Adebayo said. “I mean, 7-foot and can do the things that he do, like that’s not an easy matchup for anybody at any moment on the court.”

Adebayo is not wrong here. Kevin Durant is one of the most gifted scorers who has ever picked up a basketball and is a tough matchup against any player in the NBA. This is undeniably true even if you're Bam Adebayo, who happens to be one of the top defensive stars in the game.

Adebayo will get to test his skills if the Heat end up facing off against KD and the Nets in the first round. What a mouthwatering matchup that would be.
