Dwyane Wade is a global sports icon with three championship rings with the Miami Heat. Despite that, a handful of fans seem to still misspell his first name. That's D-W-Y-A-N-E, in case you were one of the shameless culprits.

While it's somewhat understandable for casual fans to make the error, it appears as though even the Tokyo Olympics telecast couldn't get it right. Dwyane Wade had to think of a quick save in reaction to the gaffe, instead shining the spotlight on Kevin Durant's record-breaking night.

DWade was definitely a good sport about it, continuing to crack jokes about the misspelling.

Coincidentally, the Heat legend was hosting a Twitter Q&A so he was fervently monitoring his mentions on social media. Apparently, he received enough ‘Dwayne's to have to clear the air. DWade announced in a separate tweet, once and for all, what the true spelling is. Clearly these people need some spelling lessons from Zalia Avant-garde

Even Dwyane Wade's longtime teammate and best friend LeBron James couldn't help but react. The Los Angeles Lakers star let his emoji spam do the talking as he was clearly amused by what was going on.

Next time you tweet about Dwyane Wade, make sure you have spell check on.
