Kevin Durant just added another feather to his cap, becoming Team USA's all-time leading scorer in Olympic history. KD passes a name that's become synonymous with Olympic success – Carmelo Anthony.

To break the record, Durant executed one of his patented pull-up threes with a defender right in his grill. Check out the special moment in Team USA history:

Kevin Durant was previously tied with Melo for the Team USA record at 336 career points, with the triple putting him up three points and counting. Safe to say he's going to pad his lead for the record as the Americans go deeper into the basketball tournament in Tokyo.

Team USA has taken its fair share of lumps thus far. They were dealt stunning losses in exhibition games against Nigeria and Australia, and even lost its opening round tilt against Team France. But perhaps their team was snakebitten at exactly the right time, when their losses wouldn't hurt them to the extent that they'd face an abrupt exit. The early wakeup calls might have been exactly what they needed early on to take the rest of the games seriously.

With a guy like Kevin Durant, arguably the best scorer in the world right now, their chances for Olympic gold are still looking pretty good.
