Dwyane Wade has signed a lifetime deal with Chinese shoe and apparel brand Li-Ning, according to ESPN's Nick DePaula.

Wade has been known as a trendsetter since stepping onto the NBA hardwood. He signed with the long-buried Converse in 2003 after being drafted by the Miami Heat, then switched to Jordan Brand in 2009 before soon leaving for Li-Ning.

Wade first signed with the Chinese company in 2012 and is now bound to launch the seventh Way of Wade signature shoe, which already has 11 standalone Wade stores in China. The popular Li-Ning brand boasts more than 7,000 stores in Asia, making Wade an absolute sensation overseas.

Wade left Jordan wanting to have more control of how his signature shoe would be handled. He has had all of the control with Li-Ning, taking part in discussions from the very exoskeleton of the shoe to the finishing touches — staying true to the designer part of himself he has always had a soft spot for. His sense of fashion has been trailblazing, from donning his own brand of socks to wearing exquisite ties and outfits during red carpet events.

Now that Wade has a new shoe deal, he has to decide whether or not he will sign a new contract with the Heat. The 36-year-old could retire, but there is still a bit of gas left in his tank.
