Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic will play on Friday against the New York Knicks after missing nine games in a row.

Dragic has recovered from a groin injury:

On the season for the Heat, Dragic is averaging 15.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. The lefty, who comes off the bench for Miami, is shooting 46.6 percent from the field, 40.6 percent from beyond the arc and 71.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Dragic is making $19.2 million this season, the final year of his contract. The veteran signed a five-year, $85 million extension with the Heat in the summer of 2015.

Miami rookie Kendrick Nunn has been starting for the Heat and he has been playing great. The Chicago native is putting up 16.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. Dragic has to be considered one of the best bench players in the NBA since he’s been a starter for most of his career.

Four-time All-Star Jimmy Butler has been everything Heat president Pat Riley envisioned when he acquired Butler from the Philadelphia 76ers. Jimmy is averaging 20.9 points, 6.5 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game and has Miami back in playoff contention after the team missed it last season.
