The Miami Heat-Jimmy Butler pairing has truly been a match made in heaven.

Butler recently joined some elite names in franchise history, becoming the fourth player in Heat history to record multiple-triple doubles in a season.

He joined the likes of LeBron James who recorded four triple-doubles each in the 2012-13 and 2010-11 seasons, Hassan Whiteside (3) in 2015-16, and Dwyane Wade (2) in 2005-06.

Jimmy Butler tallied 28 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, one steal and one block in Miami’s 122-103 triumph over the Washington Wizards on Friday. He shot an efficient 9-for-16 from the field and drained two of his five total attempts from downtown.

He also recorded 22 points (7-16 FG, 2-4 from three), 13 rebounds and 12 assists in the Heat’s thrilling overtime win over the defending champs Toronto Raptors last Tuesday.

With Butler leading the charge, Miami has raced to the third best record in the Eastern Conference with a 16-6 slate. The team has won seven of its last 10 games and is just a game behind the Boston Celtics in the standings.

The Heat are getting major contributions from its group of impressive young players, but there’s no question that Butler’s arrival has truly taken Erik Spoelstra’s team to new heights.

He’s been averaging 20.5 points to go along with career-highs of 6.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists in 18 games this year, while knocking down 44.4 percent of his attempts from the field and 32.8 from beyond the arc. He still remains as one of the best two-way players in the league, continuing to lock down the opposing team's best player each night.

With plenty more games to be played in the 2019-20 regular season, expect more triple doubles to come from Jimmy Buckets.
