The Miami Heat crushed the Washington Wizards to the tune of 100-89. However, they may have lost more than they would have liked as Jimmy Butler had to leave the game early due to a left toe injury.

Fans saw Butler walk to the locker rooms and were naturally concerned with the condition of their star forward. The Heat confirmed their worst fears, saying that Butler wouldn't be finishing the game as he focuses on getting his left toe sorted out.

Butler played poorly during the game. In the 27 minutes he had on the floor, he only got 9 points and 1 steal to his name. He was virtually a nonfactor on the floor, so it made sense for the coaching staff to pull him out of the game and have him start his rehabilitation as soon as possible.

Fortunately for the Heat, two players stepped up to the plate. Bam Adebayo had a monster game for the Heat, finishing with 27 points, 14 rebounds, and 6 assists. The backcourt also provided ample scoring: Duncan Robinson finished with 23 points while Kendrick Nunn had 18 as the main playmaker.

Butler is a key figure for the Heat. He usually averages 20.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 6.2 assists a night as the main option for the Heat. The fact that he wasn't able to perform to his usual standards is a sign that he was struggling with his injured toe.

Further tests will be done on his foot to see if he will need further treatment, but Heat Nation is praying that they won't lose Butler to a long-term injury. The playoffs are just around the corner and every win is important for their aspirations.

They need Butler to be healthy in order to make a deep playoff run. Hopefully, the injury isn't anything serious.
